The Indonesien partner Universities are the following: Udayana University (Bali), Warmadewa University (Bail) and Matagram University (Lombok). While studying abroad you are able to increase your intercultural skills, and beside that you can dive into Indonesia's diverse Culture by discovering new places and people.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

EUROPEANS GO INDONESIA: DARMASISWA ARTS AND CULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP

Do you want to study Indonesian Arts and Culture for one year and travel world’s largest archipelago? Darmasiswa, a non-degree scholarship-program, makes your dream come true! You will be able to get an extraordinary insight into Indonesian’s daily and cultural life and plus – there’s enough paid vacation (around 4 months), where you will be able to explore every corner of Indonesia by yourself. The Darmasiswa scholarship program is funded by the Indonesian government and the main purpose is to increase the interest in Indonesia’s Arts and Culture on an international level. You can choose from 59 Universities throughout Indonesia and if 12 months are not enough for you there’s even the possibility to extend for another year (especially for those who seriously follow their studies). INFO: The amount of the monthly grant is higher than most Indonesian students are living with. Nevertheless you have to adapt to Indonesian way of living (usually a simple room with Indonesian toilet and mattress) and local food to make both ends meet. We recommend saving some extra-money to enjoy your stay as much as possible!)

Which University to choose?

When applying you can choose the University of your preference. However, due to the capacity of every University, you might be accepted for a scholarship, but in a different University. The main study focus will be on Traditional Arts. Nevertheless depending on the University you might also choose courses in other subjects (like painting, photography, sculpture or film). Because the thriving predominant art centres in Indonesia can be mainly found on Java Island, also the most important Art Universities are spattered across Indonesian’s economic and cultural centre.
