EUROPEANS GO INDONESIA: SEMEDO HERITAGE CAMP

(work camp   ◊   April 1 - April 14, 2017 or September 14 - September 27, 2017   ◊   living costs have to be paid)

Are you an archaeology-freak and you love to volunteer with children at the same time? In this case, this amazing project located in Semedo, a rural village in beautiful Central Java, might be the right choice for you! Since 2005, when some local farmers stumbled by accident over ancient fossils, this place became a mecca for archaeology-lovers. These fossils also proved the existence of the ancient giant ape species, which used to live in Java ages ago. Be part of this project and awake awareness within the local community while informing them about their stunning heritage and how to take care of these unique fossils.

  • FEE to be paid in Indonesia: 2500000 IDR ( covering the foods, accommodation, local transport for project, IIWC T-shirt, police certificate, certificate of participation, management fee and material for the camps)

ABOUT SCI: SCI is a non profit organisation and therefore able to keep participation fees low. This makes the work camps accessible to people with fewer resources. Would you like to explore the treasures of Indonesia without leaving the metropolis and volunteer for the Indonesian Heritage Society? The non-profit organization’s main purpose is to learn as much as possible about Indonesian’s diverse culture and share this knowledge with others. From lectures, study groups, tour-guide-training courses to museum projects the Indonesian Heritage Society has for everybody something to offer!

  • Every member of the Indonesian Heritage Society (550.000 IDR/~40 Euro year for adults; 250.000 IDR/~18 Euro per year for young people under 28 years)

EUROPEANS GO INDONESIA: BOROBUDUR CONSERVATION OFFICE

(minimum of two months  ◊  throughout the year  ◊  living costs)

Who would like to help to conserve one of the greatest Buddhist temples of the world for the future generations? While volunteering in a village in Central Java (about 1 hour from Yogyakarta) you can help to organize together with the local Young Guardians Club their annual activities. This is the chance to live for a period of time close to one of UNESCO most stunning World Heritage Sites: Borobudur.
